destiny.” –Charles Schurz The summer solstice arrives June 21, 2005 as the Sun enters the constellation of Cancer (home and hearth) we also have the Full Moon in Capricorn (work/business) on the 22nd. This heralds the yearly shift from yang to yin, masculine to feminine. Balance is the key, neither to be too male (pushing outward) or too female (receptive/waiting.) Men are masculine on the outside and feminine on the inside. Women are feminine on the outside and masculine on the inside. This implies that we are all androgynous both male/female, yin/yang. When a man hates women, he hates himself. When a woman hates men, she hates herself. Forgive Self for having to experience disappointing unhealthy relationships. Build peace, calm, and contentment within go Up to Source for your energy/validation not out to others. Why not heal the drama in your life? Did you know the more peaceful you become, the more years will be added to your life? Peace balances your immune system. Focus on getting the drama out of your life, on claiming that which is yours - mastery over your own emotions (energy in motion) and peace of mind. Summer marks another pivotal time of the year. We are now on the top of the mountain and begin the trek downward, as the days grow shorter. Cancer is the first water sign, representing the Great Mother, the Cosmic Womb, and the void from which all creation emerges. Here we are at another turning point, an opportunity to check our spiritual compass and see if we are on path. What are you taking in? What inspires you, gives you hope for the future? Who or what is toxic in your life? Breathe in the calm and exhale out the anxiety. Take time daily to nourish and nurture you. Meditate to be centered and balanced. When we are too yin, we are not grounded in our bodies, too much sugar and alcohol pulls us out of our bodies. This can be dangerous to go unconscious, especially while driving a car or operating machinery. Practice being focused and grounded others may not be and your practical response will be greatly appreciated. Summer is an excellent time for celebration. Love your Self through every trial or tribulation you must face. We cannot change circumstances or people; our power is in how we choose to experience our difficulties. If life has become dull or routine change your daily habits, shake up the routine. Go out and play just for the joy and discovery. Go out and connect with Gaia, Mother Earth is magically healing. Celebrate your life, your work and remember that you are more powerful than you know. You can rise above any challenge that comes your way. As the Full Moon in Capricorn draws near, you can be a lighthouse in the darkest of places. Remember a lighthouse is never located in calm, safe locations. Lighthouses are placed on the rocky shores of dangerous waters, where the action is, to beam the light to those who need it the most in their darkest hours. Perhaps you work in a dysfunctional corporation, be a lighthouse to your workmates, impart your light/knowledge so that others may find encouragement/safety. Celebrate Your Life!
