Lovely Libra New Moon–October 10-11                                            

Together, we discover more about ourselves than we would alone.  Relationships offer a mirror and a path to wholeness.  Like a moth to the flame, we are attracted to what we have not yet developed or recognized in ourselves.  An introvert is drawn to an extrovert, an artist intrigues a scientist, and a tortuous magnetizes a hare. Opposites attract--and the greater the difference the greater the charge.  A New Moon in loving Libra invites us to reflect on our relationships and our lives. What do we cherish? Who do we love? What do we fear?  Fear = Attachment to Outcome. 

Sharing and cooperating with our partners, friends, clients and colleagues is an essential part of ourselves if we are to thrive and have lasting success. As brother Sun and sister Moon cycles through the Constellation of Libra we are being reminded that we are all relationship orientated beings. No man is an island.  We need each other to achieve our goals, to have well-being, joy, prosperity and above all else, love.   We need to understand “who” we individually are; our personality, and how we “fit” in with others.  What we are contributing and receiving from others. Thus, how we respond and support others will determine the way in which we will achieve our goals or fail to accomplish them personally and professionally.  It is extremely important to have skills that are relationship building and strengthening. This is the bedrock for our personal and professional success and achievement.

Libra teaches us that sharing and cooperation are essential if we are to flourish, and have lasting happiness. October is about having social intelligence.  For instance, you can be self-aware of your personal influence on others and whether this is positive (contributes) or negative (takes away) from the synergy and success of your relationships.  Cooperation and sharing with others is required in business to be prosperous and to stay ahead of the competition.  Personally, healthy relationships are founded on balance with a flow of give and take with each other.  One-sided relationships are karmic (toxic) and detrimental to our health, well-being, and personal development.  How effective are you in communication with others and listening to their feedback?  Listening to people so that they really feel understood, heard and have the experience of being “gotten” is important.  Even if you see faults in others when you speak, it is important to be “Unconditionally Constructive.”  Our goal now is to correct all habits that block successful relating and to increase interpersonal skills.

Your secret power is in your integrity which is your spiritual backbone.  Living with integrity means that who you appear to be is who you really are. Your beliefs, your values, your commitments,--your inner realities, ---are all reflected in how you live your life on the outside.  The more you live as who you truly are, the more peace you will invite into your life.

Living with integrity means:

Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships.                               Asking for what you want and need from others.                                                                      Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension.                                      Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your core values.                                                      Making choices based on what you believe and not on what others believe.   

Your secret power is in your emotions, fueled by passion. Passion is driven by your feelings.  When you feel passion, you are fully alive.  When we are fully alive, we draw to us the people, the resources and the opportunities we need this is called serendipity.  Choose to live in the possibilities. Challenges are exciting, they provide us with opportunities for growth, Self-mastery, and draw out our hidden strength and power.

Mercury at 9 degrees Scorpio turns retrograde on October 11 and ends on November 1st. The shadow point, when Mercury again reaches 9 degrees Scorpio and completes its retrograde cycle is on November 17. This thrice-annual backward turn of the planet of communication is well known for the mischief it makes. Messages are misplaced, conversations confused, travel plans disturbed and technology tends to become less cooperative at this time. It's vital to slow down and handle the details with greater care, to double-check data and communicate with greater precision. Mercury retrograde, though, is an excellent time to complete unfinished business, to reconnect with people from your past, and catch up on maintenance of equipment, your home and even your body.  Moreover, I have seen countless times when two individuals can have fabulous, harmonious relationship astrology; but if they have not yet worked through their personal issues, (natal astrology) and if they are not complete with their past, hence, possessing too much emotional baggage this will interfere with  the ability for healthy relationship now.  As a result, s/he may not be available for union in the way you desire. There will always be challenges to every relationship, even if you are twin flames or soul mates. You may not have a soul agreement for a long term partnership.  This is why situations do not always pleasantly line up between two people who love each other.
